About
I am Michael Chijioke Ukwuma. CU stands for Chijioke Ukwuma, and Michael CU is the name I sing under.
I write in Igbo and English because that is how I pray. My songs are made for the church and for the quiet room at home, for the mornings when you need to say thank you and the nights when you need to be carried.
Daalu is my first album. It has 24 songs, and it arrives on every platform on 3 November 2026.
I also write books and make films on African masks and culture. You can find that work at michaelukwuma.com.
